People today are becoming more controlled by vanity and what other people think of them, so when you get told you need to wear glasses the choices are endless. There are rimless spectacles, retro glasses, designer eyewear and then contact lenses.
Most people given the choice would go for contact lenses leaving onlookers to know no different. However, some of us have a little problem with sticking our fingers in our eyes several times a day and so go for the next best thing – rimless spectacles.
When choosing your new rimless spectacles there are certain things you need to take in to consideration:
- The shape of your face
Depending on the shape of your face you can determine what size and shape lenses you will suit.
- Skin tone
Skin tone need to be considered to decide whether you will suit rimless spectacles or bold frames.
- Hair colour
Again, like skin tone hair colour can determine whether you will suit full frames, half rims or full rimless spectacles.
Best advice anyone can give when looking for new glasses is; shop about. You will be surprised to find that once you have the prescription you can buy rimless spectacles, bendable frames, bifocal lenses and even prescription sunglasses online.

I've read somewhere that there is indeed a specific type of eyeglasses that goes well for every face shape. Square rimmed glasses are for people with small temples as they tend to balance the the face down with the chin. An oval faced person is very lucky as she can carry any type of eyeglasses.
